Birthdayyy

June 10, 2008 - No Responses

My birthday was 2 days ago! I am finally 18 and can drive after 9! I can buy cigarettes but i don’t really care!lol. For my birthday my friends and I went out to eat, a movie, and then to LG! Everything was great beside the fact it was Americade weekend! Yuck. We defiantly shouldn’t have went there because it was 6 young girls waiting for the nonexistent fireworks.  We all thought there was going to be fireworks but obviously they never came or we ran away before they did. It was the worst experience ever! There were tons of people that were drunk or just crazy! I knew we had to get out of there so i told insisted we go!lol. Luckily we bumped into Kyle, George, and Matt so we felt a little better !ahhaha.. but the night ended and we eventually went back to Jenna’s and went swimming and had a bonfire!

The next day was my official birthday and i had a big cook out with my family and a few of my friends and then i had a scrimmage @ Spa. After the scrimmage we all went for ice-cream and just walked around Saratoga for a little while! it was much better then walking around LG! The best part of this whole birthday was the fact my parents told me I am getting a puppy this summer! She should be born @ the end of June and i will get it at the end of July! I can’t wait! All in all….my birthday was pretty fun! :)

Weekend..

June 2, 2008 - No Responses

This weekend was, once again a lot of fun! I have realized that I live my life from one weekend to the next!  The only reason I think I do that is because I get to play basketball. I play basketball all during the week either at practice, outside or at the Ywith my friends, but, on weekends it is full of basketball and you are with your team the whole weekend. People think that you would get sick of your teammates because you are with them at practice, in the car, in the hotel, in the gym and you eat together; honestly we really don’t get sick of each other. We have tons of fun! Also,to me, i enjoy aau over HS due to the fact there is no newspaper or gossip. We all want to win and will do anything to accomplish that goal. No one cares who scores or who gets more points because we all just want to play. I enjoy HS basketball but I find there isn’t as much gossipand pressure in aau as there is in HS. In aau, you play to learn, get better and help others with their game. We each bring something different to the court and try to help   bring new things. I don’t know if it is just my experiences with aau but every team I have been on has been the same way!

This weekend we went to Poughkeepsie and won 3 out of our 4 games. We lost our very last game! There was three Division 1 prospects on the team. My teammates and I didn’t know that until after the game, which made us feel pretty good because we only lost by 6pts. We were close the whole game but we all just got tired! I really hope we play them again because I know we can beat them and we will be more determined!

The Scoop

This past weekend we won the whole tournament! It was tons of fun! We were right across the streets to the Newburgh Outlets. They were really nice outlets! They were never ending too: the stores seemed like they went for miles. Anyway, the tournament went well. The whole thing was for a father who died in 9/11. All the money we paid to be in the tournament and the shirts people could buy was all for the man’s benefit. He was a father of two and was a well known person in the community. Everyone seemed to know him when we asked who he was: he sounded like a great man.

This weekend we leave again; after this we don’t have one until the end of June. Hopefully we do as well as we did this past weekend!

24-27

This weekend I have a basketball tournament. I am not really sure where it is but because my team switched tournaments a few times; I do know that it is 3hours away. I am really excited because we get to play 5 games instead of 4. We usually have 2 on Saturday and 2 on Sunday but this time we have 3 on Saturday and 2 on Sunday. We didn’t play last weekend due to my teammates having prom, senior balls and siblings college graduations, so, we are all excited to play this weekend. A few girls and I have a room together that is suppose to be really nice. There is usually 3-4 of us that car pool and then sleep in the same room and split the cost; this time we paid for a sweet and 5-6 of us in it. It should be a lot of fun! I am really happy we don’t have school on Monday because I know I am going to be very tired!

I really hope my hand is okay because Doug hit it and now it really hurts. It is my right hand too. I need that hand to everything. If it gets hit or stepped on it is going to kill. I really hope it gets better before tomorrow morning!

All You Need Is Love

Last night was our Spring concert, it was dedicated to Natalie Collura. I heard so much about her and thought of her a lot before that concert; but when I saw her in person it was amazing. To know this little girl is going through so much and has gone through so much can still smile and be here. We all wore the red shirts in honor of her and sang her favorite Beatles song. She was the cutest little thing! She was surely tiny too. She had no hair but you couldn’t even tell because her smile was so big and bright. I was looking at her during the concert and she was sitting straightup listening to every note we sang so attentively! The most important thing to me was that she was smiling! I really hope she was happy and enjoyed it! All her friends were with her and they were singing along too! When my teacher announced she was here, she stood up with her mom and just seemed so happy. Everyone stood up and clapped and we all just recognized what she was going through and gave her tons of support! I feel awful for her and her family. She has 2 siblings and they are younger: one is in kindergarten and the other is 4yrs. old. I only saw her mother stand up but I am sure her father was there too. Her mom cried during the performance but Natalie SMILED!

It is really sad to think that these types of things happen and it is a question everyone wishes they could answer and solve. The only thing we can do is support the people experiencing then and learn from it. The doctors can learn new medication and the surrounding people can learn to appreciate life. When people tell you to value your life and never take it for granted it: I now really believe it! when she smiled at me and gave me hung I realized that if she can be this happy while fighting for her life then I should be ten times happier. Natalie is a really strong little girl; I hope she enjoyed the show and realized how much people are touched by her! I think the most important thing is that she makes it through this!

Prom again

May 9, 2008 - No Responses

Well, this is my 3rd blog about prom because it was a long and fun night! The prom was held 2 the Lodge. It was very pretty and big. i liked it better then my freshmen prom because there was more room! We had a magnet man come and he took awesome pictures that we got right there. I think everyone took home atleast 5 magnets of their friends; It was a great idea! Also, the food was great but i didn’t eat a lot there cos’ we took pictures inside and outside and we danced. Everyone was dancing1 It was really nice to see our grade together and happy after all that has been going on! :(

The prom @ the Lodge was great but so was the after prom. We changed out of our dresses and went back to the High School! That is where everyone really ate because everyone was busy @ the acutal prom!haha..The after prom party is a really cool idea! I am really glad and thankful they held it again this year! We played card games, jumped in the bouncy house, plays on the running game thing, ate, and played basketball. There were times that i got really tired but i kept trying to ignore it and keep playing cos’ you don’t have this kind of thing every Sat. night. At the end of the night we were able to win prizes; i ended up winning a DVD player. I honestly don’t know how i did because i didn’t win a lot of card games and when i did i gave the money to Tu cos’ we was really into it, but, i did win with the humm…100 tickets i had..haha…

When i got home i drove Tyler back and went to sleep. i had to wake-up @ 12 cos’ of practice then i had to do a lot of homework. I ended up sleeping after school on Monday cos’ i was just so tired.

In the end, prom was amazing and it is true when people say prom is a lot of fun! :]

Prom #2

May 9, 2008 - No Responses

Yesterday @ this time I was getting ready for prom and setting up the stage.. Also, at this time I couldn’t try my dress on(in case i got it dirty), i couldn’t wear my jewelry (in case i broke it) and i pretty much wasn’t touching my prom stuff. Now that prom is over, my dress is hanging on my closet door near a window, my jewelry is humm..not really sure…my shoes are under my bed and pretty much everything i wore to prom is being worn or is laying around my house/room.

The actual prom on Saturday was amazing! I had tons of fun! My dress fit perfect, my make-up come out really nice, my hair came out the way i wanted it to, and i was very tan. I honestly don’t think one thing really went wrong! The Hummer limo was really cool; the lights and designs in it was really amazing. Everyone fit in it perfectly. We had 18 people in a 20 person limo so it was great. The prom preview looked really pretty! It came out not exactly what i pictured but better! :] Before the preview we took pictures and drove around, because how many times do you get to ride in a hummer limo with a princess dress on, and being with your best friends?!?:]

Prom!

May 9, 2008 - No Responses

Well, prom is tomorrow! I am sure everyone is writing something about prom and their plans..haha..i will just add to the list cos’ that is what i am writing in this blog. I have pretty much everything set now: hair apt.,nail apt., make-up apt. and my dress is ready!! I love my jewlery! I have these fake diamonds that are really big and 2 really shinny rings to match. I am really excited about my pink dress cos’ it is like a little girls dream to have a dress and get all fancy! I think that is why so many people are excited because it is pretty much the only time(besides your wedding) that you can dress up and get your make-up/hair done. Also, we have a Hummer Limo: that is amazing. One of my friends had the same exact hummer as us and she said it was even better then the pictures showed: that is exciting.
